well, there are some people that actually really don't remember what they do. I have been so drunk that I don't remember parts of the night. I never don't remember everything, but I do forget some things that I do. So, I would say that if they are telling you they don't remember because they were drunk it's probably true!!!

A few years back I had decided life was not worth living but was too chicken to end it myself. I decided to drink and force an untimely death. In the beginning I'd fall asleep, then I started having blackouts until eventually my conscious mind would blackout but the subconscious would take over. My fortune was a loving partner who truly empathized with my situation and kept me safe until I started getting wild and out of control. He'd relate things that I had done which sounded so out of character and were hard for me to believe let alone take ownership of. We went on holiday and I ended up trashing our hotel room. Fortunately, my partner had set up a hidden camera and after my usual denial he played the tape. All I can say is that the person screeching in the monitor was a body snatcher. It was horrendous! Thankfully I stopped abusing alcohol and got myself sorted. There are people who use alcohol as an excuse (especially when they give it as a reason for forgetting - if you can remember being too drunk then you have not forgotten much) and those that are in denial about the effects alcohol poisoning can have on the mind (they sincerely feel you are making it all up and look confused because they honestly are).

It is not a lie. Blackouts are very real. If you drink enough, you will have no memory of what you have done. I think people do use it as an excuse for their behavoir, but it really can and does happen. To say people always remember their actions when they are drunk shows that those people have a limited drinking experience.

It really depends on how drunk you are. Also everyone has a different tolerance when drinking depending on there body. Different people react differently when they are drunk. Some people do use it as an excuse though so really unless you can magically turn into them for a few minutes or read minds you can never really know whether they are lieing or not.

I think that it is often an excuse. "Whoa, I did what? I totally don't remember that."
However, there are people who truly remember nothing when they drink to excess. And excess is different for different people. Some people totally black out and wake up having no idea how they got home, so it is possible to be so drunk that you forget the night before.

Yes Miss Butterfly, That is exactly what they do and don't you accept that for an apology because its not one. Its a pathetic and sorry excuse and that is all it is.. Pretty soon that person's excuse (if it hasn't already) will turn into an illness. I try my best to stay away from the losers like that. so should you sweetie.

Some people do lie, but at least twice in my life I woken in the morning with little to no memory. I understand I was quite entertaining. I was just glad I did do anything mean or rude.
