A .psd file is a file created by Adobe Photoshop, but you don't need Photoshop to be able to view it. Go get a free graphics viewer called IrfanView and you will be able to open it.

PSD files are graphic files created by Adobe PhotoShop.
open it with Adobe Photoshop not the reader like the moron said earlier.

PSD is a Photoshop document. Can also be opened by several other graphics programs including Jasc's Paintshop Pro.

Look at http://download.com and you will find several psd viewers or conversion programs for free.

PSD stands for Photo Shop Document.
Use Adobe Photoshop to open it. You can also use irfanview. Its free. Just search on google with name 'irfanview'.

next time this happens to you goto filext.com and they are usually very helpful when you are in doubt of what a file extension is for. And it can direct you to a site where you can download something to open it.
