I'm competing against someone to do a greater deed than them, except they don't know I'm compteting against them. They have adopted 2 kids from Africa, and now I HAVE to do something, they are not going to make me look like a fool if I can help it..I need your help, and please no bashing (unless it's funny!)

It sounds like this other person did a great and noble thing. Since you are in a "competition" to do something "better" than this person, I pray to God that you are not stupid enough to involve other peoples lives in your little game. This other person apparently did this out of love....if you try to follow suite, it will be for all of the wrong reasons and childrens' lives will be effected (without the true love and commitment needed for an adoption to work). If you must "top" this action, go take out an astronomical loan (one that puts you in massive debt), and give it all to a children's hospital or something. This way, you won't ruin an innocent child's life, and you will look like the most giving person in the world. That'll teach her to do something nice when you're around!!!

This isn't bashing, this is the truth. You should not adopt a kid unless you have the right intentions and the ability to raise a kid. You will look like a fool if you adopt a kid and can't really raise it. Why do you need to compete with these other people, can't you be happy for them instead of having to one-up them? Sorry, I'm not in a funny mood, and you need at least one serious answer, because I take adoption seriously, it's a kid's life.

What's better than adopting a child? And how can you beat your friend's good deed in the process?

Support a local adoption agency, present yourself as the spokesperson for the cause, AND take all the credit for all the happy families you bring together, AND leave your friend as only a small part of the big story that YOU created.

What??? You are competing against another couple to see who adopt better children...or more children??

I am adopted. I cannot imagine my parents saying something as appalling as your question. Is adopting a child a competition? It should be about you wanting children....wanting to love and raise them. Not about who can adopt more children from Africa.

Adopting a handicapped child from Africa -
Adopting a child from Africa that has AIDS -
Providing an education for some children
Providing medicine for children

AND FOR THE HUMOROUS TIDBIT -
Take out our president anyway you see fit to make our world a safer, happier, healthier, less illegal alien invaded place to live. You would be helping ALL of mankind with just one gesture. I for one, am to chicken to do it, but I would much appreciate it if someone else did the deed for Me. You don't have to "kill" him, just take him out of office somehow!!
