My government teacher has told us this this week and i am wondering if it is actually true...

My answer is MAYBE.

Canada has a strict "hate speech" law, which could apply to the PUBLIC reading of passages of the Bible condemning homosexuality.

The cite below is from a VERY right-wing site, but it's the first one that came up, and I assume they are not lying - that the bill was passed. If you are really interested, do more research starting with the info here. Good luck.

Actually, the law is that you can not eat bacon, ham or shell fish while reading the Old Testament. Come on, Canada is a free Country. Our laws aren’t all that different than yours. Heck, we aren’t all that different than you.

That sounds like total nonsense, I've never been to Canada but it's a free country just like Holland where I live.

No! Tell your teacher he/she is full of crap, and that his/hers **** is sucking wind. This law was rescinded after the war of 1812-15, which I must add, the Americans lost. Golly, to think this is the type of crap they teach our kids today.
