You obviously have social anxiety. Don't get too freaked out though. I was diagnosed with that in high school, even though I am a very outgoing person, I still get really nervous upon first meeting somebody or approaching somebody, like you said.

From my experience, there is only one way to overcome it. Approach as many people as you can. Havge you ever heard the term "Fake it until you make it"? Well, just tell yourself that you arent scared, that you have confidence, and you will begin to feel that way.

Keep in mind that other people are nervous too, not just you. And remember, everyone else is focused on there own "anxiety" of some sort. We feel like everyone is analyzing every thing we do, their NOT. They are as scared as you a lot of times. So don't be so hard on yourself.

Just keep remembering that you have no reason to feel scared. You aren't doing anything wrong, and everybody DOES except you. Just be yourself. The more you tell yourself this, and the more times you approach new people, this will just go away.
Keep your head up!

It sounds like a phobia or anxiety disorder. Many people are now suffering from these because they are products of divorce and feel rejection from a mother or father. Even if both parents were together when the rejection occured it can still cause anxiety disorders. Have you lost someone you loved very much recently? Has someone special moved away?

My first suggestion is you get on your knees to the Lord and ask Him to take this spirit of infirmity away from you. My second suggestion is that you visit a doctor and let him know how you feel.

When you were a little child, a baby, you tried to greet someone and something bad happened (you were rebuked, frightened).
Go to a psychiatrist and try to find out what it was. Once you do, it will pass away.

Dear friend, most of our problems are created by ourselves ( sub conscience) so it is better to solve this problem within yourself by having practice, for example try to be among people and try to wish and greet people
