I am referring to the upward arrowhead character, not the parentheses. Is it math related? I only seem to use it when I make this face… ^_^ But I know that is not why it was put on the keyboard.

It is Caret.
In maths, it is used asa symbol for 'raised to the power'.Eg:
2^3 = 8
In English, it is used to insert words missing in a sentence especially when using a pen.
Eg:
some words
I think ^ are missing.

It is math related and used when referring to squared.

Example: 3^2, 3 x 3 = 9

It's used for a couple of things but the most common thing it is used for is "to the power of"
so 2 squared is 2^2 and 2 cubed is 2^3 because most math programs won't allow superscript.

the emblem is referred to as a semicolon. this is used to connect 2 self sufficient clauses collectively into one sentence. that is like a great comma. as an occasion: this may be an entire sentence; this may be yet another one. :)
