There's so many!
KWS for murdering Baker Street and Never let her slip away
Cascada fro Truly Madly Deeply
Duran Duran's White Lines
Scooter- The Logical Song
Any cover version by Stock Aitken and Waterman or anyone connected to Simon Cowell et al.
Inevitably there will be several hundred great songs that have been slaughtered by rubbish dance acts mauling them into so called trance anthems or whatever. Really, there ought to be laws against it.

Somebody called Mark Ronson has done a REALLY bad version of Radiohead's 'Just' recently, which is totally unforgivable. It's awful! He's also mudered The Smiths classic 'Stop me if you think you've heard this one before'. That man is off my christmas card list!
I totally agree with you on Paul Young's annihilation of LWTUA by Joy Division. It's sacrilege!
DippyGirl: I know what you mean about Girl's Aloud ruining 'I think we're alone now', the original was the first single I pestered my mom to buy me when I was about 4! They've tainted my precious memories!

NOrmally any cover done by Westlife is guaranteed to be dreadful, that an an awful cover album Duran Duran did in the 90's called "Thank You" where they decided to crap all over tracks by Public Enemy, Lou Reed and Grandmaster Flash and many more. Recently voted by Q Magazine as the worst album ever !!!

What a brill question!!
I'm sure there's loads but the one that sticks out in my mind when I looked at the question was.....
When Electric Six did Queens: Radio Ga Ga... It was awful but what made it worse was the fact that the lead singer had been made up to look more or less exactly like Freddy Mercury and in the music video was seen to be dancing on Freddy's grave!
Awful!!
And soooo disrespectful if you ask me!

I could list more, and I agree whith everyone else too.... cover versions of brilliant songs should be banned. ooh wait I just thought of another. someone did a dance version of Alice Cooper's Poison. That scares me. a lot. Ooh and also Ronan Keatings version of The Goo Goo Dolls' Iris.

It's Raining Men by Geri Halliwell!
Have you heard the original? It's a real belter. Halliwell can't even sing the top notes in the chorus, and sings the harmony line instead. I know it was a hit, but to me it sounds really, really lame and shows her up as a second rate singer, and the pop industry up as a piece of fabricated shite.

I totally agree with comfortably numb. It was going to be my answer until I read the whole question. So I would have to say a toss up between 'While my guitar gently weeps' Spineshank and Highway to hell by Marilyn Manson.

your all wrong as nothing compare to the sh!tness of the girls aloud sugababes cover of walk this way. Whats worse is its for charity, they've even d!cked around with the song so that the music no longer fit.
Whichever producer decided it was a good idea to make that record wants shooting
