Killing or Saving is not the act of any game , Games are Games all ways , it is we the people who give much importance to a single game. Yes to some extent Cricket is hurting other games in India. It is because due to wide Publicity and Advertisement which is made to earn money.

yes, it is the cricket that is mercilessly killing all the other games in india. We have some many chess champions but they or their games are not promoted even through the best channels or even newspapers. Many atheletes have made their mark made in the records of sports but they are shone in india. all the TV Channels fight hard to get the cricket be telecasted live but not other sports. Even the goverment show its baised nature towards the sports. IF all these neglect the cricket, surely other games may gain its importance. I strongly belive that it is the field of Media which is killing other sports by just encouraging the CRICKET. As the media is only way to reach every section of people.

I think not because cricket is becoming more popular in India.
Cricket is like killing other games means India is taking over other games and becoming very populor in India.

Yes, of course.
Our India People are mad after cricket than any other game , due to popularisation of the game even from the British period.
The viewers for the game of cricket is manifold compared to any other game in India and naturally the gate collection and advertisement money are very high, favouring better pay and perquisites for cricketers.
Government must allocate more funds for other games and nurture the talents so that development of sports in India is not lopsided .

Never. Other games goes on its way and cricket in its way. This is only a feeling that because of cricket other games are getting less prominence. Of course, cricket pockets more money than any other game. Then there is good money in lawn tennis also. There is a need to pay handsome amounts to other players also, if not to the same level of cricketers. It only amounts to negligence of other games by our concerned authorities. So cricket is not killing other games.

You can't say "YES" to this question.
Reason, we are playing GULLY DANDA since centuries. Indian minds are imbibed with Cricket by the Britishers.
It is the 5 day match, followed by 3 day match, now ODs. What it shows, people have no time to watch cricket for days together.
Of course, cricket was killing other games, because we could not put a better show in games other than Cricket.

Not at all...
Each individual selects their own choice of game. But percentage-wise, cricket is the choice of majority of our people in India. But still, there are other games such as tennis, chess, athletics, etc., have their own position where people show interests and their efficiency. That is the reason why we have people like Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathy, Sania Mirza, Vishwanathan Ananth, etc., in our country.
One main reason that cricket seems to be killing other games in India is the sponsors, who show their interests for cricket. The sponsors should change their mind, and equally encourage other intelligent people who show interests on other games as the cricketers. If the sponsors are ready to encourage the athletics field, we can find many intelligent players who may be capable of winning gold medals in Olympics, and Asian games. The days will be coming soon, where the sponsors show more interests towards the athletics field, and winning the gold medals in Olympics for India.

yes Cricket is killing other games as about 90% students(boys) want to be a cricketer if they choose sports as their profession. If Indians choose other sports like tennis they can be far more ahead where they are now. There will be many Paes and Sania in this world. Not only Paes there will be Roger Federers from India.
