In High School, the girls' teams were called the Wild Kittens and a bunch of my college friends always laughed at my sweatshirt that I wore a lot with "Wild Kittens" on it.
In college, I came across a school that had the mens' teams with the Bole Weavil and the womens' teams with the Cotton Blossoms. Bole Weavils eat cotton blossoms...
Arkansas Tech's Wonderboys always cracked me up too.

The football team at Arkansas Tech University is nicknamed the "WonderBoys" I always wondered what kind of mascot they'd have to go along with that.

Heneretta fighting hens (now renamed knights I believe),
and the Claremore zebras.
There is also a small town named hooker (honest to goodness) and I cant remember their mascot but it dosent matter their town name did them in

its not really funny but, Iowa's mascot is a cyclone but they're mascot that goes to the games is a bird.
