When you play international cricket for some time your weaknesses become known to the rival teams and they exploit your weaknesses. If you compare Sehwag's batting with Sachin and Ganguli you will notice that these players use their footwork so well that they are practically ready and waiting for the delivery to come to them and they either guide the ball or hammer the ball in the direction they want. While Sehwag stands still and swings his bat hard whether the short pitched ball in incoming or going away from the off stump and a result his strokes are not very well timed. What he needs to do is to take a crash course from Sachin or Ganguli. The selectors know what it means to have a dashing opener like Sehwag to be in the team when they face off the Australians in the world cup.

Sehwag obviously never had good footwork or anything else that would make him a good batsman..... At the time he was scoring runs he was actually having lots of luck on his side.. Besides, he gets out playing a rash, stupid and joke shot.. Now he's out of form because of this... And coming back in form for a player like him seems difficult to me.. Remember how Afridi can destroy any opposition on his day....But everyday isn't sunday , now is it?

Some of his good performances in the past made him overconfident and he took for granted him place in the indian team for sure. This has adversely affected in his form and he never took any sincere efforts to improve his form.
By dropping him from the side selectors made a point to him that unless he performs, there will be no pl,ace for him in the indian Team.
I hope he has taken the signal given by the seloectors seriously and will come back to his true form in the coming matches
