No, because the money sent to their countries is spent on US goods and services. What are these goods that have American named brands on them? Even if they're made in China, US corporations own them. Hence, it goes back into the pockets of US citizens, and the IRS. But with most of the answers that you got, you must now realize why the US imports the best and the brightest people from other countries in order for it to survive. If the US lets its citizens do the thinking, it will surely become the next Mexico faster than a speeding bullet.

A wire transfer is the best way to do this. Go to your bank with the info for the bank you want to send the money to. You'll need the person's bank account number, the bank transit number and the name of the person to who you are sending it to, as well as the bank address, phone number etc. It's easy. We do it all the time at work and you have proof of where you sent the money, etc. Hope this helps.

Western Union is far too expensive. Try Xoom instead.

Wire transfers from banks can also be expensive but it depends on your bank. Check with the bank to see what the fees are and compare to WU or Xoom.

Xoom fees are significantly lower than WU across the board and wire fees, at least from my bank, are more expensive than xoom also.
