The trust fund can only be used for what it was intended. If her husband got a lump sum settlement that was set into a trust; the proceeds from that trust can only be used for direct benefit to him - like his rehab costs, modifications to the home if he moves back etc.

Unless the car is to be used to transport him, funds from the trust cannot be used to by her a car.

Edit - depending on the state/country and terms of the trust; she may be allowed to withdraw money for herself if he was the sole provider in the marriage or if she can be paid for managing the trust -- see a local lawyer.

Sure can prosecute. That money is only for his care and if she buys a car and the money runs out before he dies, she has made taxpayers pay for his care because she stole money. A trust fund is Never Never open for the administrator (executive). She should have gotten a lawyer to help her manage the money and made a plan that gave her a salery and her living expenses as his wife and got the plan approved through the courts, Then she could spend only her part of his money as agreed with the court. She is now in a lot of trouble. You have to account for every single penny in a trust fund.

Get a lawyer, as an executive "you do have the right" to that information.

Check more on the Internet, go to the Louisiana State laws and most likely you will get more information.

Good luck!!!
