I own a 55 plate mini one convertible, and ever since a roof tile blew off my garage in the recent storms and hit the rear parking sensor (and damaged my bumper dammit!) i've had this horrible screeching noise every time I reverse telling me my sensor is not working. I can't afford to get it fixed so soon after christmas and roof repairs, is there anyway I can switch it off until later in the year when I can get it done???? thanku!

if you can look in the boot for the wire that's coming out of it. then disconnect it or try your fuses, any body who needs a sensor should not be driving, Ive heard of people crashing into thinks because the sensor doesn't always work right, pull it out and through in the bin

You might try disconnecting it at the sensor. It should be pretty easy to access.

Check the owners manual/fuse block and see if there's a fuse for it you can pull and disable it.
