Yes I do believe that periods can stop for a number of reasons including not eating properly and stress.

I've not heard of stress stopping periods but it could screw up the schedule. Travel can change the schedule as can illness. Other reasons for late or missing periods - pregnancy or if you don't have enough body fat (runners, compulsive exercisers and anorexics ) can miss periods too. Also there's menopause which typically doesn't hit till mid 40's or later but can occur earlier. If you're a couple of weeks late and sexually active get a pregnancy test. If there's no chance of pregnancy it doesn't hurt to wait a cycle - then see a doctor.

Yes, increased can cause your periods to stop rather than increase. Your hormones are out of whack with increased stress, which affects your periods.

Biologically we are meant to give birth when we're healthiest. If the body is under a lot of stress some of the mechanisms of becoming pregnant stop, to make sure a woman can only conceive when she's healthy enough to bear a child.

it's a primitive survival thing. like, if you don't eat enough your body thinks your starving and won't let you make babies.

Yes when you are stressed out and worried the can stop, maybe not forever, you just have to notice a pattern and try something to help you stay calm.

A friend of mine had bollemia and didn't have a period for two years. I hope that's not the case with you because I swear she got brain damage from it. But as for me...if I don't eat much a couple days in a row, I get mine. So...I think diet does affect your period.
