Andy Kaufman, one of the most eccentric comedian of all time, was the center character in "Man on the Moon." Yes, he really existed. The movie's story, although somehow altered (due to cinematic license), is relatively accurate. The Philippines, my country, was featured as one of the nations Kaufman visited for the false hope of finding his cancer's remedy. Although not mentioned, the faith healer (fake healer) mentioned there is obviously Mr. Jun Labo, a once popular healer residing in Baguio City. The movie is a great dramatic vehicle for funnyman Jim Carrey.

One of Jim Carey's defining roles.
Kaufman is probably best known for playing Latka Graves in Taxi but was an innovative comedian long before then.
