YOU CAN GO BY BOTH DATES.. ACCORDING TO YOUR LMP(LAST MENSTURAL PERIOD) YOU ARE 14+ WEEKS. AND YOUR DUE DATE IS AUGUST 2. IT JUST MEANS THAT YOUR TIME OF BEING PREGNANT IS SHORTER. THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO ME RIGHT NOW.. ACCORDING TO MY LMP, I AM 17 WEEKS TODAY, AND ACCORDING TO THE 40 WEEKS PREGNANCY MY DUE DATE SHOULD BE JULY 20TH, BUT ACCORDING TO MY ULTRASOUND MY DUE DATE IS JULY 16TH. I GUESS ANOTHER WAY OF PUTTING IT COULD BE THAT THE BABY IS MESURING A LITTLE BIGGER WHICH MEANS A LITTLE FURTHER ALONG.. NOT TOO MUCH THOUGH.. JUST A FEW DAYS... I TELL PEOPLE HOW FAR ALONG I AM ACCORDING TO MY LMP, AND WHEN THEY ASK MY DUE DATE, I TELL THEM THE DATE THAT THE DOCTOR GAVE ME.. THE PEOPLE WHO ASK ME AREN'T GOING TO SIT DOWN AND CALCULATE TO SEE IF THE DATES MATCH, LOL... GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS TO YOU!!!

You go by the first day of your last period....and you listen to your doctor. No one can say for certain when you will go into labor...babies come when they want to.

When they figure you cycle they are going on a 28 day cycle..not 33 days... if you think your 14 weeks & 3 days, and the doctor says it feels like 14 weeks then you are both pretty much on the same page. Don't sweat the small stuff. If you are having an ultra sound at about 20 weeks they will be able to confirm or change your due date then by measureing and seeing the development of the baby.

Relax, eat healthy, get plenty of sleep & glow!!! Have fun and be excited...having a child is the most wonderful experience!!! Best wishes & Congrats!!!

you will almost NEVER have your baby on your due date anyway, so just go with the flow. I know especially with a first pregnancy, you want to know EXACTLY how many days you are, but once you get to the end of your pregnancy, it doesnt matter too much whether you are 14w or 14w2d or 15w, its all pretty much the same thing. the doctor will usually tell you youll deliver usually anywhere from 39-41 weeks anyway, which is a pretty big window. the ultrasould will usually show a different date by a couple days, and if its only a couple days, they will not change your due date or anything unless its off by a couple weeks. anyway...your due date is august 2, so counting the weeks, go by that date.

EDD are just that. Estimates. Usually they don't do ultrasounds until about 18 or 20 weeks to size and date the baby because until then, growth hasn't become constant.

I've gotten several different EDD so far. At first they were telling me April 21. Then when I had my first ultrasound they told me April 16. Then the baby was measuring two weeks ahead of what I actually was so they did another ultrasound and now they are saying (based on his measurements) it could be anywhere from March 20 - April 3.

So just hang in there...even if they tell you a certain EDD, it's still not definite. You could either go two weeks over or two weeks early. You never know.

I would go by what your doctor gave you. With both my last pregnancy and this one, the doctor's dates were off from mine by a few days. We both had the same starting date because both times I was ttc, so we had both had the same record of my last menstrual periods. My doctor and all his nurses have a little wheel that they put in your lmp and it tells how far along you are.

not unavoidably, lol it really is pronounced as a date, i imagine because they set a date jointly on which they're gonna flow out. i imagine diverse people do diverse issues on their dates.
