So, I'm 13, and I have this Russian-Jewish singing teacher. Last Christmas I got her a present, and wrote Merry Christmas in Russian on it. (Wrong thing to do, I know.) Then a week later, I found out she doesn't celebrate Christmas, and she's Jewish. So, for 2007 Holiday Season, is it okay to give her a Hannuka present?

It's entirely appropriate to give a Hannukah present. However, the gift giving practice relating to Hannukah is a modern phenomenon, influenced by Christmas. The very festive holiday of Purim is coming up this March, so it would impress your teacher even more if you gave a gift then.
