Certainly from my own experience, I can tell you that yes, a day seems shorter now that I am 45, than it did 20 or 30 years ago. The phenomenon is well known. Most theories claim that we experience time with reference to the amount of time already lived. For example, a year represents 10% of a ten year old's life, while it is only 5% of a 20 year old's life. That is not to say that a year will seem exactly half as long to the 20 year old, but there is certainly some logarithmic function being used in the brain for time perception.
As far as birthdays however, as you get older you anticipate them less, and that makes them come even faster!
My question has always been : how is time perception for an insect that only lives for one summer? Too bad there are no insects on Yahoo.

when you are a child time drags on because other than school you have no where to be.as you get older you have schedules, deadlines to meet,ect..you live for payday so you wish your adult life away so time appears to fly..when you get old,if you are lucky enough to retire you somewhat return to your child like conception of time because you once again have no where to be..but then you thing about being old and death approaches and you constantly wonder how much time you have left.so the days once again fly by because you are now clinging to life.the best advice i can give is not to think about it..the worst crime is to die without ever having lived..so live each day as if it were the last.find the joy.smell the flowers, lay on the beach at night and gaze at the stars as you listen to the roar of the ocean.God gave you life so you can experience the wonders he created.enjoy...

Yes because the older you get the more responsibilities you have.... which means more deadlines. All the things you don't have to worry about as a kid. The older I get the more things i want to do (spend time with my gf, ride my street bike, ride my dirt bike, go off-roading). gotta get the money to do all these things and that takes time too so its just a vicious cycle. work play work play.

Yes. I remember when summers lasted forever, and now it's like one day of summer and then it's Christmas! When I was young, two weeks was an eternity. Now it's the blink of an eye.

Perception of time can be weird, I can say nobody has the same perception as another... It really depends on your mental activity.
I tricked my perception with the use of drugs or aural stimulation 'binaural beat' and it can be frightening!
All is in the brain.

Time does tend to start flying as you get older. And your body weight tends to creep up too and is a lot harder to get rid of.
