if you file chapter 13 instead of 7 you can keep what you want BUT you will have to continue payting it off through a trustee, the thing is they wont beable to keep charging as high interest and they also wont make you pay what you owe but what it is worth example you still owe $10000.00 for your car but blue book is only $5000 that is would be paid to them..medical bills would be completely wiped out as well as anyting not secured like credit cards..it has been 10 yrs since we had to file so i am sure some things have changed but it did save us ALOT of money a month..of course our credit was shot afterwards but we had no choice at the time..go see a lawyer that specializes in bankruptcy...if you file chapter 7 you pretty much gotta give back anything or make a deal with the banks for a settlement..

Sure you can keep your car if you file bankruptcy, but you just have to continue to make payments. You have to list it in your bankruptcy, because you have to list all debts. But it does have to be included but you are allowed to keep it if you keep paying on it. Also if you want to keep your cell dont include it. If you are behind on your utilities you can include those also and from the date of filing they will start you over.

Just keep up with your car payments and they will let you keep your car, the same with the utilities too, you also get to keep those. Think twice about bankruptcy-it has very long term effects on your credit. I filed and it made me miserable for years.

the only way is to not put them on the bankruptcy and keep paying the bills, if it is on the bankruptcy then it will be repossessed.

yes, as long as you don't file on them and continue the payments .
