Good question - but what a very strange answer.
I have never read any of the Harry Potter books, but I hear all the hype and the last book is coming out and no one knows the ending.
So I would write the last chapter of the last Harry Potter book and make sure that Harry Potter dies. And this is not to be cruel, I would do it so that when Miss JK Rowling gets older and / or dies, that no one else can benefit from her wealth and write fake Harry Potter sequels.

I'd re-write the final Harry Potter film the 'Deathly Hallows'
I'd have Harry defeating Lord Vodemort and sending Snape to Azkaban. Ron and Hermione getting married and Mr & Mrs Weasley inheriting a fortune. Hagrid getting together with Olymp and Harry gaining all Voldemorts powers, but only using them for good. Ah! The End.

I would definitely rewrite the bible. The part where Jesus dies is so terrible. He was such an interesting character and to kill him off in the final chapter was awful. I hear a sequel is in the works where he mysteriously comes back to life but I hear Bible II has been in production for 2000 years and still hasnt been published.
I for one am not going to hold my breath.

harry potter and the deathly hallows!!!!! so many people are waiting to find out what happens to the boy wizard.............so my ending would be.......
on the train back to kings cross station, ron and hermioine are fighting as usual, as ron has a dirty mark on the side of his nose. Neville as usual has lost his toad and is asking people have they seen him. Malfoy and his gang are picking on a first year, as they have a mental capacity of a first year. Ginny and Luna have their head inside the quibbler. Hagrid, our burly groundskeeper, and the keeper of keys of hogwarts is busy playing exploding snap with colin and denis. All the other students are doing what they do best.
They all get off the train, back thru the barrier, and go home!!!!
The end.
If you're wondering where harry is, or what happened to him, you'll have to wait and read the book!!!! :)

I'd re-write the last book of Meg Cabot's "The Mediator" series, so that it didn't just end with that book, but could keep continuing with more of Suze's adventures...and I'd have more Jesse DeSilva *sigh*

i too instantly thought thought about the bible, but was was thinking more along the lines of:
"... and then i woke up - it had all been just a dream."
Could've stoped a hell of a lot of people killing and being killed over the last millenia.
