You will need 1 router...and depending on how far apart the other two computers are away from the modem. You could need up to 2 wireless adapters. So...here's your choices. If they are both Desk top computers in different rooms. You can go with a Wireless PCI card. Which tends to be a bit more expensive (depending on what you get) but stays inside the computer. Or you can get a Wireless USB adapter which you just plug into your open USB port. Much easier..but you have a little stick to mess with. Also With the USB... having USB 2.0 would be better for that. You can still use it on 1.0 or 1.1 But you won't get as good of a file transfer. Or if you have a lap top. If it's new...it's got a built in wireless already in it. If it doesn't. You can buy an adapter that slides into the side of your lap top to make it wireless or you can use the wireless USB. But the USB for laptops are a pain in the butt. It's your choice. But you can run up to 4 connections at once PER router. In ohio...where I live. You can buy a Wireless Net Gear Router that has a 100 ft radius. (depending on how thick your walls are) for $39.99. they pretty much go up from there.

No, The point of a router is to share your internet with many computers. A wired routers gennerally can hook up 4 computers if you want an ethernet cable connection and they can hook up 20 to 50 if you use a wrieless router. You can also hook up 4 computers with an ethernet cable by using a wireless router. If any of your computers have a wireless internet card in them I would suggest a wireless router. Remember that not just computers can use a router. I have my Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and my PDA also hooked up to my wireless router. All those can not be hooked up (without buying extra equipment) to a wired router. Go wireless.

Actually Dear what you really need to come from my heart well since you have 3 computers it depends if that is at home or at the office if that is at home the best i suggest this to get a hub that has a router and a switch it that which you can get from circuirt city ,best buy or other store which is around 120 to 175 dollars and that will help you out alot and that if you have high speed internet like dsl or road runner and so on that would be a great choice with the hub also if you have less memory like if you have 256 of ram add 256 more which that will be brought up to 512 and upgrade to the new windows vista and the other programs out there and this is great as well checkign out the new things and upgrading to them also inculding the chips needs for the tower and basically build the pc and so on the way you want it is actually cheaper then buying a new pc and that if this was helpful i hope so and more god bless you take care , bye my husband if ccna ,mcp and myself to and more ... take care god bless again !

One router should be good enough if they're all near each other. If not then you may need two, but i suggest that you get a wireless router and adapters for each PC. This way you can put each PC where ever you want in the house

you only need a router to go outside your home network. as in
a router would be connected to your cable modem.
Otherwise use a switch to connecte the computers together and your networked printer if you have one and then you only need
one connection to your router.
But if you have a router already. then just use the connections on the LAN.
