oh my - - yes.. I believe it.. I live not too far from Phitsanoluk and actually was in Chiang Mai today - - all familair territory.. My Thai is pretty good, but asking directions here can be a challenge even for me as Thai people feel that it would be impolite not to try and help and will frequently give a wrong answer.. and though most of the busses are marked in English, that might help you to get around here better than her... and since you are interested in this, have you heard abt the 27? yr old lady that they found in Cambodia - - she disappeared as an 8 yr old and has been living in the jungle ever since - maybe.. so far, not sure.. because she cannot speak either..

That is believable, although could be a good cover story for escaping her family as well.
