I have read many articles, on the subject, about $12 billion in cash sent by the U.S. to Iraq to help start up the government. It seems now they cannot find the money. You would think that in this day and age they should have done a wire transfer,NOBODY PAYS IN CASH!

Probably used to pay informants and others who help us...you are a civilian you do not have the Security Clearance high enough to find this out, just like the reporter who released the information...you are just mad because you can not find out...a question I have what are these Third World countries going to do with the 8 Billion Dollars our great Democratic congress is sending them for AIDS relief or research or what ever the hell they said it was for...maybe do some genocide?

The shipment of the money IN CASH was made at the request of the Iraqi minister of finance to fund their government expenses. And no one knows where that missing $12 million went.

Although, with the lackadaisical way that the Iraqi government has been acting in upholding their end of the bargain (taking over control of their country), I would suggest that maybe it went towards lobster, swimming pools, limo's....

It does their government figures good for us to stay there and keep proping them up.

Let's see...Could it be the paychecks to the troops there? Or, the bonuses they are paying for kids to join to go there? Or, the danger pay money, separation pay money? Or, the cost of the contractors that are there making the food, sitting in the Mayor's cell and accounting for the property....Or, maybe it is for the equipment that keeps getting blown up or replaced. I could go on and on. If you really want to see where all the money goes, you need to join the military and you will see that 12 Billion is really not that much......or at least not enough ...the war is a big bill to pay!

Don't worry I'm sure the CIA are using it well in the War of Terror, I expect they gave a load to Osama for his training camps in Afghanistan (it costs a lot to hollow out mountains) and they will need those to have a proper war with the Taliban, plus the insurgents always need more guns.

Perhaps Bush and Friends pocketed a bit too, why not the American tax payer has got plenty and they're too dumb to understand what's going on.

Only 8.8 billion of it is unaccounted for. It's tough to wire money to an area that only has electricity for part of the day.

What I don't get is why did they have to send over 12 billion all in one shipment, that right there says something isn't right.

Yeah! Let's blame the Iraqis for the failure to greet American troops as liberators, for Donald Rumsfeld's reponse of "Baloney", to a question that the war may cost as much as $2billion, for half-truths (at best) about WMDs and connections with al-qaeda, for huge amounts of "no-bid" contracts for U.S. and British corporations, for getting Poodle Blair to sign on to the war while about 80% of his own populations opposed it, for sending people to "rebuild" Iraq who had no experience in nation building, for pulling Jay Garner who promised elections in Iraq in 90 days.

Yeah! Let's blame the Iraqis. It's all their fault.
Ungrateful bastids!

Thank you for your question! I find this incident to be positively fascinating! I have never read or heard one syllable from the Cons or the Republicans on this TWELVE BILLION DOLLARS but I hear and read reams and reams and reams about the piddling amount Uncle Sam "doles out" to help the poor, elderly, and infirm.

Fascinating.

Dude, we send billions to Russia and the people don't get it. The Jews always get it. The Jews run all governments. In America trillions are squandered. Jews run our government.
