If you are experiencing pain or discomfort in your hips, the best I can tell you is to put a small pillow between your knees. When I was at that point, I simply could not get comfortable, and I did a lot of tossing and turning.
However, if you're just restless, try this relaxation technique I learned from a hypnotist: Get in the most comfortable posistion possible. Normally this would be on your back, but since that's not recommended for pregnant women, just get comfortable. Starting with your toes, slowly tense the muscles. Hold the tension, then gradually release. Repeat. Then move up your body, one part at a time. You should even tense the muscles in your face. Then work your way back down your body. Imagine that each body part is becoming very very heavy, sinking down into the bed. Let yourself feel the weight of your own body, from your head to your toes. You'll be amazed at how relaxing it is.

i could always fall asleep on the couch but not in bed - sorry no other suggestions as i tried all those you mentioned and still wasn't comfortable and then when i finally did fall asleep a would get a painful leg cramp. My suggestion to u is make it impossible for your partner to sleep as well - toss turn - kick off the blankets - then he might give u a massage in hopes of you going to sleep so that he can get some sleep!

When I have trouble sleeping I do deep breathing excercises - through the nose pull in a really deep continuous breath for 3 seconds - hold for 3 seconds - let it out slowly through your mouth for 3 seconds - repeat as needed - it works for me, really settles me down. If your mind is racing and keeping you from sleep try writing your thoughts down to calm your mind. If nothing works just keep in mind that you only have 2 more months to go - you'll eventually sleep good again, this is only temporary.

If you have a recliner, try sleeping in it with your feet up sometimes. Or at least try to get a nap through the day in a recliner. I catch up on sleep on my couch. Strange but true. Right now, my couch is more comfy than my pillow-top queen sized bed.

We did this at ante natal classes and it really worked for me.
Lie in bed, get comfy, then push your head into the pillow - relax, push shoulder down, relax, then hips and knees and feet. One by one push each part of your body into the bed and relax them. Then adjust to get comfy if you need to. Relax your lower jaw and breathe deeply and let it go. Then think calming and relaxing thoughts and breathe evenly. See how you go!!
