Psychologically speaking...Is it just harmless fun or are there underlying reasons...

People have fantasies because they have an imagination. They either want to revisit and alter something that they have tried/done or they imagine doing something that they have never done and would never consider doing. It is harmless as it is contained within their own heads and, unless they have some sociopathic or disassociation disorder, it is perfectly harmless.

Fetishes are acquired. They may be borne from an innocent experience which brought joy. Later, this joy gets associated with sexual pleasure and so the fetish comes into existence. As long as they do not involve the infliction of damage either to self or another then these too can be regarded as harmless.

Hello there, that is a very interesting question and I have to say people dont really try to understand that, but thanks for the question.

Yes, there is a reason behind fetishes, and hopefully as you may know some are harmful. When a child grows up, he/she goes through some stages and the most important ones are the attachement stages. Im not quite good with the terminology. The first stage is the sucking stage. A baby will suck on so many things if you do not breast feed them regurlay, some do suck even when they are breast fed regularly. They need to get satisfied in these stage. The nex stage is the anal stage, where the kid likes to put his/her in the anal area and maybe scratch it from time to time. The baby needs satisfaction of this stage too. Next is the Genital(spelling) stage, this is wnere the kid like to touch there private touch. The nude stage which is not common is next, as it says its the nude stage. In all the stages, the needs to get satified in all the stages.

Im not sure if I mentioned all the stages but what Im trying to emphasise here is that, if any stage is skipped for whatever reason, you are going to get attached to that stage and that will become your fetisheness. Fetishes like the feacial fetish, nude fetish food fetish and others are all caused by the attachment to a skipped phase. Usually, parents are the ones that make their kids to skip a stage because they stop them from doing what should be done at that stage.

I hope my info has helped you. try reading psycological books, you will get more info there, visit http://themind-bizville.blogspot.com and read on Clusters

Bye

Psychology cannot fully explain why fetishes occur or form. The human mind has, for whatever reason, this capacity to be stimulated, not just by sexual desire alone, but also by certain facets of exposure to objects, clothing, pain or body parts. The old adage is very much the truth: I don't know much, but I like what I know. Fetishes are something we don't know, but we know we like them.

As for whether they are harmful or not, if you are self aware enough to know you have a fetish and you are comfortable within it, then there is no harm. The danger is when the fetish becomes an obsession, that's where lines are crossed. Most people don't cross but occasionally, and we've all heard a story or two, some people take it to the extreme.

i will tell u what i ve heard from a reliable source: fantasies are quite normal but fetishes (i mean real fetishes not just prefferences) are a slight disturbance, people who have them cannot function sexually without them. they are usually caused to some kind of fixation when the person is still an infant or a little child. Fetishes are a substitute for the penis in the fetishists subconscious, thats why he cannot function without them. they are harmless in the sence that they are not connected with sexual agression of any kind, but i believe they are tough for the one who has them. If he/she- but mostly he- finds a partner who can put up with that all the time it'sgreat- but thats not easy!

Possibly realted to their past.

Ie someone who was bullied with little control in life may like fantasies where they are dominant

Girls from a poor background probably like rich luxury surroundings.

The schoolgirl thing (thinking high school not kids here)

i guess is being able to pull the girls who rejected you when you were that age and horney as hell, and beeing the cool stud of the school... much like being the football star and beating up the bullies. Plus younger fitter female = more babies

stuff like that.

There are usually psychological reasons, but if it doesn't hurt anybody, who cares? Live and let live.

I dont see anything harmful about it and I wouldn't call it fun either, I would call it whatever turns you on.
