That is a good question. I would tell her that it depends on the movie.

In King Kong (1933, 1976, 2005) the giant ape would scale the empire state building.

In Godzilla (1954-current) the huge lizard would tower over such buildings.

But in King Kong vs Godzilla (1962) they were both the same size!

Technically Godzilla is much bigger, but when they fought each other the movie producers brought Kong up to Godzilla's size.

Godzilla was 10 times bigger than King Kong.

The original Godzilla stood 400 feet tall.

Godzilla, he was over the buildings while King kong was shorter than the buildings.
