Put a rusty, dirty coin in a glass of coke, and see the effects for yourself. It's so acidic that the coin comes out clean and shinning!

would you like a list of what is bad for you? do not get paranoid about this kinda stuff, i completely understand though, a few years ago i refused to buy a cell phone because it "caused brain cancer" now that im in the medical field i kinda understand a little bit better that just about everything but living in a bubble will have some hand in being bad for you. now will it probably be a factor in your high cholesterol down the road, probably, but so will just about every other food you enjoy. if you dont drink pop very often dont worry, everything in moderation is okay. dont let the general publics paranoia get in the way of you enjoying a well deserved coke every now and then. i promise coke will not be the difference between living till 50 or living till 80. live life to the fullest cuz it is sadly very short

hi i was addicted to drinking coke and gained well over 4 stone in weight! it is realy bad for anyone because of the ammount of sugar you are taking and the caffine is also no good for you as it acts as a diaretic, this means you can become dehydrated quite quickly. I realised that i was drinking it for the energy and swapped it for a drink called liftoff and i have now lost all the weight and gone from a size 18 to a 10 and gained exellent energy levels. if you would like more info call 07852268085 or email shellyporter@hotmail.co.uk

Coca-Cola is a cola drink, similar to others in this category.

Cola drinks have 3 ingredients that possibly be harmful to health:

1. Sweeteners. Sugar in soft drinks (including non-cola drinks) increases
the possibility of dental caries ("cavities"). Non-nutritive sweeteners
such as saccharin and aspartame also have undesirable side-effects in
specific population segments. Nutritive sweeteners are a significant
source of calories in the diet (about 250 per serving of a soft drink).

2. Caffein. This "upper" is added specifically to cola drinks as a class.
It is a diuretic and can elevate blood pressure. It has been suggested as
connected to development of rheumatoid arthritis.

3. Phosphoric acid. This acid is typically only used in cola drinks, which
are very acidic (low pH) compared to other soft drinks. This can increase
the rate of enamel loss from teeth. Phosphates in general are a
nutritional problem when ingested in volume without corresponding calcium.
This results in decalcification of bone tissue, accelerating osteoporosis
in the aged.

The example of Coke removing tarnish from a penny is irrelevant to health
issues. Water and salt will cause iron to rust away, but they're both
essential to life. Your stomach acid is much stronger than that in Coke.
By the way, I've heard a microbiologist say he used to drink a Coke
quickly after accidentally sucking up diluent through a pipet. He claimed
the Coke was protective against the bacteria. I don't think I accept this
argument, but it shows the "flip-side" of the penny example.

Here are my recommendations based on a rational assessment of the above:

1. Soft drinks and coffee should be ingested in moderation. Avoid more
than 4 servings a day.

2. If you are at risk for osteoporosis, avoid soft drinks with phosphoric
acid (e.g., colas).

3. Drinking the diet form of soft drinks can eliminate 1000 calories or
more per day from the diet and will reduce the incidence of sugar-related
dental caries.

It's not especially bad for women. Apparently the sweetener in diet coke damages sperm production if taken regularly, but as women don't have sperm this won't affect you.
Cola does contain lots of acid and sugar - it is terrible for the teeth. I would not drink more than one glass or an per day.

The phosphoric acid in coke, or any soda, can leach the calcium from your bones and make you more susceptable to osteoporosis. Plus, all the sugar makes you gain weight. I quit drinking sodas over a month ago, and I lost 10 pounds.

Coke is bad for every one not just women!
Caffeine users are inclined towards high blood pressure and its associated risks (heart attacks, heart disease.
The sugars and acids rot you teeth and you insides.
Aspartame (sweetener) build up in your body and is a sauce of phenylalanine which is carcinogenic (causes cancer).
Coke is really nasty stuff, good for cleaning the loo, or old coins, that is about it.
Sorry my advice if you can live without it do and if you can't learn too!

They have addictive chemicals inside. They have caffeine. And drinking one can of Coca Cola is like eating eight cups of solid sugar. Well...it HAS eight cups of sugar per can. Think about PEPSI! Pepsi has even MORE sugar. They also have dyes in them. They cause cancer. They are delicious but avoid them as much as you can. Do not drink them a lot for it will be harmful to your body.

Soda is bad for everyone. That is..if you drink it like water. You should limit your pop because it has too much sugar and sodium. You can still drink the fuzzy stuff, but only in moderation. :)

Coke is bad period. LOL a chemical experiment found that coke has the same acidity has usual vinegar. so basically you're drinking down a can of vinegar. The only why you don't realise it is because they put in so much sugar.-- about 12 teaspoons ( or is it table spoons) a can
