If one wanted to become a psychologist, i'm sure you'd have to major in psychology. but what education and degrees will you need?

Depends on what kind of specialization in psychology you will take. For instance to become a Clinical Psychologist you would probably need a Ph.D. for other specializations like School, Organizational, Counseling etc a Masters will do.
You do need a Masters though no matter what....anything less is considered a counselor or an assistant of psychology in most countries.

Part of the course includes statistics, so a background in mathematics, biology, and chemistry would be helpful. Contact one of the places you're likely to go, to study, and ask.

To practice as a psychologist you have to have a Ph.D., and be board certified.
