Some operations you are kept over night. Depending on your calcium level. After surgery your calcium levels fall and they want them back up before allowing you to go home. They want you out of there as fast as possible and trust me you want out of there....
Some are called day surgeries and those are the ones you can go home the same day.

Your question is very vague, you don't say what sort of operation you have had or going to have, if it is an extraction of your wisdom tooth you do not need any rest whereas if you have a hernia operation you'll probably need to rest for few days and start taking things gradually for at least the first three months. I think that all major operations may need a three months period of rest. But it all depends on your age, constitution, how healthy you are and of course the kind of operation performed

depends on what operation it will be. but as soon as you can move around after the operation the better because early ambulation helps promote healing. the earlier you try to turn to sides or dangle in bed and even walk slowly, the faster you will recover because it promotes circulation. it usually depends on the person's tolerance of pain after the operation. sometimes it takes longer to recover with other persons but shorter with some. if you are not babyish and you would try to motivate yourself to start moving as early as you can then you will definitely hasten your recovery. however, do it gradually of course and do not bear weights for a while because it could cause your wound to tear.

I believe that this depends on the operation you had. For example my father had a by pass and it took him 1,5 months to recover.
If it is something usual, then the estimated time is 1-2 weeks maximum!

ummmm what kind? it all really depends....most of the ones I've had I was home a few hours after waking up. I only stayed once overnight and then went home the next day. (these surgeries were for a benign tumor nent to my right eye.)

Your question can't be answered without knowing what type of operations you're going to have.
