It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels - Kitty Wells.

Patsy Montana was the first woman to have a commercially successful solo career in country music. Her 1935 recording “I Want To Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” became the first country recording by a woman to sell more than 1 million copies and gave women a new, more powerful image in the industry. Kitty Wells gained widespread popularity with her single “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels” (1952). The song represented a female response to the “drinkin’, cheatin’, ramblin’” life commonly glorified in the music of male country singers. It was the first song by a female country singer to hit the top of the Billboard magazine country music charts.

"I Fall to Pieces" is a famous Country/Pop song written by Hank Cochran and Harlan Howard and was first recorded and released as a single by Patsy Cline in 1961.

"I Fall to Pieces" was the first song Patsy Cline recorded under her new contract with Decca Records in 1960. Originally, Cline hated the song, but when she heard her version of the song she realized she liked it. While "I Fall to Pieces" was climbing the charts, Cline was involved in a major head-on car collision that June. She nearly died in the accident.

When Cline was in the hospital, "I Fall to Pieces" climbed to #1 on the Country charts, becoming her first number 1 hit, as well as climbing to #12 on the Pop charts and #6 on the Adult Contemporary charts. "I Fall to Pieces" was followed by a solid follow-up hit in 1961 called "Crazy" to make up for the touring time and promotional scheduling she lost while in recovery in the hospital. However, it was "I Fall to Pieces" that made Cline a household name and remained as one of her signature songs throughout her career.

The song has been redone by countless artists of various genres (like LeAnn Rimes for example) but will forever be linked back to Cline. In 1980, the song was released again as an overdubbed single with an electronically-produced duet between Patsy Cline and country singer Jim Reeves that reached #61 on the Country charts. The song was also rated #107 on RIAA's list of Songs of the Century and was also featured on an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In addition to this it was repeatedly used on the movie 'Phantoms' staring Peter O'Toole, Rose McGowan and Ben Afleck.

"I Fall to Pieces" has been said to be Bill Clinton's favorite song.

Rolling Stone ranked "I Fall to Pieces" at #238 for their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

"I Fall to Pieces" was ranked at #17 on the list of the greatest jukebox songs of all time. At the #1 spot was Cline's song "Crazy"
