Be yourself and be friendly. Listen to everything you are told and take notes if you have to. Don't worry about asking questions, that is your job, you are new! Relax. People will begin to accept you after a couple days. Just stay positive and absorb any knowledge thrown at you. You will be fine. Promise. Good Luck in your new job and don't let the first week get to you.

You should always be true to yourself.Be yourself and if you build frienships then fine and if you don't then that should be fine also.Be friendly but not over freindly because some people like to take advantage of the "new kid on the block".It is always hard being the new kid because you don't know anyone.Whatever you do please don't isolate yourself with an IPod or cell phone or any other electronic gadget because you would be seen as an antisocial person.Believe me after the first week you will see who is who.Never give your personal opinions about anyone especially if you have a negative impression of someone because gossip is everyone's favorite pastime. Some people live to gossip, and if you give them an opportunity they will take it.If anyone approaches you with gossip DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR OPINION.Just listen politely and try changing the subject.Good luck and I'm sure you will be successful.

Arrive early, depart late, bring your lunch, so you can spend part of your lunchtime working, or learning, but go out if invited. Be friendly and cheerful, and offer to help, or ask for something to do when you've finished. Bring in some doughnuts or cookies occasionally, and hand them around. Socialise, but don't drink too much. I'd make notes about people's families, and ask how little Jeffrey or Clara are doing in school, etc. from time to time; follow their lead and don't go into too much detail. Say: "I imagine it's a pain having to show a newby the ropes, but I hope I"ll be worth the effort in time".

Don't worry, your going to be a new member of staff and people (your bosses and managers) will be aware of this and therefore will be patient in showing you things and explaining how things are done. As for everyone knowing each other, so will you once you have been there for a few weeks and will make friends with people you like there so don't worry. Everyone was new at some stage.

Everybody starts that way.
Of course your not going to know anything.
That is why people are called apprentices.
They have somebody to show them the "ropes".
You will probably have a boss or coworkers you can ask questions until you get familiar with the inner workings of the company.

I notice that sometimes people are "Over" helpful they will say things that are simple, just to be helpful and get to know you a bit better.

Just go in listen to what you are told

Im sure they will have someone to show you what to do, and most of the time they will take you along to the lunch area so you can meet everyone else
