We are thinking of getting new deck furniture, and I love the comfort of the ones where the chairs have thick padded pillows for the seats and the back. Do the pillows have to be brought inside when it rains? I am concerned about mold developing in them if I leave them outside. What's your experience with them?

Out door furniture is able to be left out for the summer season, however, should be taken in at the onset of autumn.

The cushions are fabricated to withstand some dampness, but should be popped into a covered area if rain is comming. Shed or just inside your door. They must be taken in for the winter.

Yes, they will develop mildew. I am dealing with this now.

Good luck.

I would bring the furniture and pillows into a shed or under a cover whenever your not using them. UV ruins wood and cloth in 1 to 2 years. And water adds the mold/mildew issue.

It's why the covered bridges are still around.
