Anything can be fixed with the proper knowledge, skills and tools. however in your case i would call a repair service or buy a new one.

If your frig is more than a few years old you may not want to bother fixing it. Assuming it is a white enamel finish you may not even like the looks of the repair plus there is no guarantee the fix will last. The biggest expense will be putting valves on your refrigerant lines, since it is unlikely you have them, and then recharging the system. Figure at least a couple hundred bucks altogether. Make him foot the bill for a new one as a "secondary" Valentine present. Those new diamond earrings he was getting you come first!

AS. the older the refrigerator & Freezer are, THE better electricity IT TAKES TO RUN THEM... They were 30+ yrs previous in any case... HOW previous ARE YOUR SET? Is it time to get a clean SET or a stunning good USED SET???

Repairing punctured cooling coils is ectremely difficult....in most cases the unit would need to be replaced....if its a small leak it will take a few days before the system is completely purged of gas.

I bet it will cost $100-300 to fix depending on what he punctured.
It won't stay cool for long.

It would probably cost more to fix than it is worth.
