...since they are 'selling' their time, by the hour, and probably wouldn't give you a second glance if you weren't paying for the session.

Can you really trust a psychologist? Do you think that they sit there occassionally glancing at their watches and thinking "when will this idiot get out of my office, so that I can go to lunch?!"

under that rational, then, for example, all plumbers are prostitutes as well. They sell their services for money as well. If you didn't have the money, then you wouldn't get the service. You can extend that to every profession that performs a service.

If you disagree with what a therapist and psychologists do, then don't go to them. Find someone else who you can talk to.

I would much more inclined to think the prostitute would tell you the truth, bluntly, and also probably have a better idea of what your problem really is. Prostitutes stay alive by their ability to profile a person quickly, if they read them wrong they can end up dead. Many do as they are a favorite target of serial killers. Fooling a Psychiatrist is relatively easy. Watch the prisoners in any max security prison when they are up for parole. They fool them constantly, and the psychiatrist's seldom learn.

Why not include lawyers as well? Also, they have session times, so they know when they are going to lunch.
