What sort of damage has it got can you still use it?
Laptops don't like being dropped as the motherboard is very sensitive i droped my old one and it dosn't work any more ooops

Well if the keyboards is the only thing broke you should be fine youc ould see if the insurance company will repair it or send you a new one but if not get it repaired if it needs it.

Don't claim on insurance if it's old already...by another one!!! better one, repaired won't be as new,or as Your old one be sure.Try with selling your old laptop in parts someone will need some parts, not damaged...maybe You will earn something from the old one...i is hard to find old parts from old laptop's.Just save Your "soft" from laptop and get a present for yourself,You will bee happy!!!!
Like me,when i buy a present for myself:) it's a grate filling

GOOD LUCK

Get a price for the repair first and then find out what excess you have to pay and how your claim will affect next years premiums.
Work out what will be the cheapest and best option for you.
Me personally would just claim, whats the point of insurance if your not going to use it.
Good luck!!

If you claim on insurance, unless it is insured New for Old, you will only receive a small percentage of the original value. Try to find the cost of repair, and see if Insurance will cover the cost.

Depinding on how old it is and how much it would coist to fix.
But since it's old you should claim on yor insurance and get a new one if it coasts less than £50.00 to fix.
