my laptop does not have a s-video. it has only one yellow output jack.
my tv has everything u can imagine. hdmi, s-video, component cables, avi's.....
this is stupid for me to even say it but when i connect the yellow cable from my laptop to the yellow port on one of the avi's on the tv, it doesn't work.
is there any cable i can buy which from one end is the yellow jack and on the other is something that i can hook it up to my tv. and make this work?

Okay, the reason why you can not see anything on the TV is because you need to tell the computer to switch it's video output from the LCD screen to the video out jack. Depending the system this may be an Fn function which will look like a little TV on the button in a different color than the regular letters, or it may be an F10 or such hot key. It really deopends on the brand of laptop you are using. Hope this helps

that yellow output is RCA cable. you should see a yellow female RCA jack front side of your TV. that's for video. you might need a earphone plug to plug into your laptop sound and Y adaptor (red and white) RCA adaptor for sound.
