I've met this one, her name in her tag was "P. B." but I knew her. Her real name is Phoebe. Do they really use nicknames?

It all depends on company policy and the type of atmosphere they want to project. I don't think they'd want to use a person's nickname, like "Stinky". LOL!

Last year Matthew McConaughey visited a Quiznos in our area. A server had her picture taken with him and it appeared in a few of the neighboring town newspapers. However, that day she had forgotten her uniform at home and was wearing that of a co-workers.... thus in the photo she didn't have her own name badge on.... instead it read something like.... Bob!!!

I also think that telemarketers and customer service reps use fake names.... hmmm.... something else to think about.

that depends on the manager, some us nicknames while others make the name tags based of the application when hired.

They have real names. It is up to the staff what name they want to put on the tags. Your acquaintance must have preferred to use nick name. That is it.

All I know is that McDonalds diners originated fro the USA and before McDonlads came to our town centre...it was WHIMPYBURGER and Whimpy is the fat man in Popeye cartoons who kept on eating these burgers.

It depends on the McDonald's. Each restaurant is individually owned and operated. The one I worked at, I had to have "Michael" instead of "Mike".

Yes they are their real names. Some stores allow nicknames. Also sometimes if you forget your nametag you just use someone else's.
