As an employer, I want my operation and every job we do to run as smoothly and safely as possible. In order to do this we all have to work together and get along almost like family, or even better. If a new employee comes in and begins to complain or has trouble getting along with the good members of my crew we kick'em to the curb. Every crew of every company picks on their new employees, that's probably his problem. You have to get "hazed in", just like a college fraternity. It's never anything personal, it's just life and alot of people can't take it. Once a new guy gets over the first week or two they're family just like the rest of'em.

That is why I always required a resume from the people working for me during the many years after I left the union. I required a resume and I checked a persons last 4 jobs they listed. If someone gave me listings that were un-checkable, I wouldn't hire them. I was an Electrical Contractor and I worked usually with government contracts on military bases. The pay at the time was around $35.00 per hour and this was in the 80's. There was always so very many people wanting to work with us and few were able to turn in an honest resume.

my brother was like this! mother and father always had an excuse for my older brother.
you won't change her mind but you could try to get through to your brother and tell him the facts of life about jobs and how to keep them.
some people are not made to work for other people..my other brother had a great job as a millwright for a big three auto company..but he could not work for a big company so he went on his own and had to work a lot harder with no benefits and no pension and he died three months after getting his first social security check..pity he worked himself to death.
Maybe you can help him and maybe he will just have to live his life the way he sees fit. Some people are just to bull headed to see the forest for the trees..You have done your job..just be there for him in his hour of need.

Sounds like he isn't telling the entire story. He probably is lazy and just doesn't want to work. Hence, he takes too long and gets fired.
