Information gets out at the speed of lightning weather it be lies or half truths. If it weren't for the Internet, Child Pornography, Identity Theft, Make your own Bomb sites, Invasion of privacy (youtube), MySpace, kids posting personal information..and the list goes on..would we be better off as a Nation if the Internet was never invented?

No,I dont blame the internet.I blame the parents for allowing their kids unsupervised and unlimited access to the internet to where these kids give out their personal information. All the other like the bomb info you can find on the internet just saves the wacky person a trip to the library.

I use "All In One Keylogger" for some time now to track my kids activities, keeping them away from Internet dangers.
It is completely invisible so they can not know it there

It monitors and saves all they do on the computer.
I can then view the logs and know exactly what the did.

It records all the keystrokes, chats conversations, emails, the program the used, the sites they surfed to ...
You can even set it to block sites by keywords.

I set it to send me all the logs to my email so i can know what they do even when i am at work.

Here is a link to the company site (they give a free trial so you can download and test it yourself)

Parent to parent advice - Download and test it.
You will be surprised from what you find.

Yes, all should be aware of what a huge powerful tool lurks inside of their homes. Tool perhaps being the wrong definition, oracle maybe? It can be like leaving your cyber front door open for anyone to walk in.

Without the internet, I shudder to think about the power of BushCo's misinformation machine.

Who do you propose should control the distribution of information?

Think about North Korea.

Go back to '72-74 during Watergate and Pres. Nixon,
This country did just fine then "Without Internet". Someday Internet will come back to haunt us.
P.S. Nixon was a crook, clear back to when he was in California, (TODAY BUSH MAKES NIXON LOOK LIKE A SAINT)
