I'm very impressed that they fought back. With Aus being 170/1 with 20 overs left, they would have been targeting 350, so to shoot them out for 252 is a great effort. To then rebuild from 16/3 and pace themselves so well would not have happened a month ago! It just shows what wonders a win can do. Suddenly we're one win away from winning a proper ODI tournament overseas for the first time since Sharjah under Adam Hollioake (yes, it was that long ago) - not a bad turnabout for a side that was being pilloried earlier :)
I don't think we should get carried away, but a big 'well done' to the players and let's finish in style!

england showed some character today.....they were excellent..led by the captain...it reminds me of how Pakistan beat Australia almost 10 years ago and qualified for the finals of the then called C&U Series in Australia and then went on to win the finals by beating WI. So England now has shown that they can change their fate and they can now look at themselves and say that we can win world cup......

england needed abit of luck and deserved to win eventually. But they must remember teams like australia arso aggressive and are always playing to win.where other teams would consider trying to put in respectable totals,or consolidate their innings after any mini-crises,Australia never do this. This occasionally backfires and the opposition benefits.England in the past have courted too much praise when they have won matches like this.
Well this last match i have not seen, but i suspect a case of cickets equivalent to the rumble in the jungle

I'm absolutely chuffed to pieces. When I left for school England were 15/3. Had a grilling at school from a dodgy ozzie supporter at school. Returned and couldn't believe it. Well done Colly!

I believe we have every chance of winning this tournament. It's about time we showed some character and the last few games we certainly have done. It seems that all is not lost after all!
