It is not swearing at all,but there are better ways of saying the same:what a load of rubbish;what a load of nonsense etc etc.

if you were on the phone to a call centre or similar then its swearing, to the rest of the world saying c-r-a-p is more or less accepted! but these call centres employ very senitive people who will want to terminate most calls so they can get to their next caller so their call rate goes up!

Everyone has their own version of swearing, to me that would not be swearing at all. I don't know, I guess it is an individual thing. =)

If that's your personal opinion of what that person is saying, then it's perfectly acceptable. Saying the 4-letter "S" word instead would've been very UNacceptable, but the "C" word is ok, especially if they were sales people, interfering in your relaxing evening.

I think the other person is being a little over-sensitive. Next time, why not say, "you think THAT's swearing? Nah, THIS is swearing: *!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*"

I wouldn't say its swearing but it was probably the excuse they needed to make you madder than you were already.

It's borderline. At Chez Tish, we have a list of 'borderlines' that the kids can use at home, within reason, but must not be used at school. things like crap, bloody hell, ar$e, that kind of thing.
As long as they stay away from 'the big four', (use your imagination) then most other things are o.k, but like I said, within reason.
