I have a TON of BRATZ, and I'm a teenager. I think Bratz are more accessorized and prettier.

Supposedly Bratz is the new Barbie. Your daughter would probaly prefer Bratz over Barbie.
Barbie has become a collectors item now and the prices are rising

Barbie. No question.

The Bratz dolls are all designed to look like very young girls. They suggest that its okay for little kids too wear tons of makeup and dress provocatively (belly shirts, etc). Also, the name alone implies that it's a good thing to be a brat.

Barbie, on the other hand, is designed to look like a grown woman. I know her measurements are impossible and all that, but the fact that she's grown is a good thing. Barbie's clothes can also be provocative, but at least parents have choices about the clothes that they buy. There aren't many appropriate choices with the Bratz dolls.

Any way you slice it, Barbie is a FAR classier choice. Bratz are just trashy.

Bratz are a fad, but Barbie is timeless. Bratz can shop and wear cool clothes, but remember that Barbie was a doctor, a politician, an astronaut, a business woman, etc. Barbie looked good, but she could DO things, unlike Bratz.

So, Barbie is better. :-)

This of course is just MY opinion, but I refuse to let my daughter play with Bratz. They look like 2 cent whores.

Barbie can be dressed in all sorts of ways to accommodate the more modern look of girls today. Along with the traditional Barbie, there are also newer styles of Barbie such as Teen Trends, Beach Barbie, My Scene, Fashion Fever, and Barbie Divas.

I think the new Barbie lines reach out to the more modern generation by allowing them to find what fits their personalities and interests them, without making them jeopardize their childish innocence.

Again, this is just my opinion of course. But as a mother, I just cannot imagine giving my daughter a Bratz doll and feeling good about myself. As parents, our job is to protect and teach our child; prepare them for the future. I think Bratz gives girls an utterly tasteless perception on what is acceptable for young children.

I have included links to each of the new Barbie lines that I mentioned above.

I think today's 10 year olds are more inclined to say Bratz are better although Barbie is a doll that will never lose it's popularity among little girls.

My 10 year old great-niece HATES Bratz--she thinks they look like little sluts. She loves Barbies, though.
