gakg ashas asdbasjaab asbjbas asdbaskasdadadasdha asdashlkfih.

kjagdigjdhf kaoshi hdasyah asisdaosih daoih ashd ah asid ashd aihdi a aidhaoih as as dhaioshaoisdhaos.

---notice that the empty lines are actually blank para's caused by double hitting of enter key. so "line-spacing" etc dont matter at all

If there are actual "returns" between paragraphs, and it is not that the paragraph is formatted with space after (Format - Paragraph - Indent and spacing tab - "Spacing Before"/"after" should be 0), then you CAN delete using Replace; some definitions first, though, to determine what you need to replace.

First, turn on viewing paragraph marks -- View - Toolbars - Standard -- the backwards "P"

Hard return/Paragraph Mark - you'll see a backwards "P" when the "enter" key was pressed at the end of a line

Manual Line break - an arrow pointing down to the left; this is when the Shift-Enter key was pressed at the end of a line or is very often from a web page

Using Replace:
1. Click Edit - Replace.
2. Click the MORE button.
3. Click the SPECIAL button.
4. Then select either Paragraph Mark or Manual Line Break depending on what's in your document. This will put either a "^p" or "^l" in the "Find What" field.
( If you "replace all" at this point, though, you will have run all your text together. )
5. Enter a second "^p" or "^l" in the "Find What" field so that it replaces double instances of that mark - the existing end of the line you want to keep and the blank line.
6. Then put "^p" in the "Replace with" field.
7. THEN click "Replace All".

This will remove the extra lines and keep the paragraphs where they should be.

It turned it into a bottom border of the paragrah. Simply turn off the border. To turn off the border in Word 2003 and older, go to the Format menu > Borders and Shading > Borders tab. You should see a highlighted icon of a grid outline with a solid line at the bottom representing the bottom border. Just click on that icon to turn it off. In Word 2007, go to the Home tab, in the Paragrah section, the far right bottom corner is the border function. Click on the down triangle to open the menu and select "No Border".

Open the Microsoft Word document. Go to EDIT---> SELECT ALL. Then, Go to FORMAT ---> PARAGRAPH ---> Select appropriate line spacing (i.e. 1 or 1.5 or 2 etc.). Then Click on O.K. Your problem must be solved.

Try high lighting all of them and then just delete. That is if you can highlight them.
