It's because a constant level of achievement (reflecting eg the life style we reached, the knowledge of our possessions and other achievements, etc) cannot maintain us at a constant state of satisfaction. To this end we would need an ever increasing inflow of pleasure, but this sort of dynamic relationship between satisfaction and pleasure is an exponential growth. Since our brains work on chemicals, this exponential growth of pleasure chemicals is in many cases physiologically unsustainable in the long-term. When the inflow of pleasure breaks down, we feel a kick of dissatisfaction in the rebound. It turns out that the happiest people are the ones whose "growth coefficient" (which is proportional on personal factors such as greed, etc) is sufficiently small, so as to enable them to keep up their own satisfaction with life.

Because, every body has a notion about what is good for him and what is not. This may not be correct for himself/herself but he/she beleives that. When the thinngs that do no not go with his/her notion she/he becomes unsatisfied.
This wrong notion arises from his/her environment and grooming because he/she did not see the life very objectively. There comes the role of consellors or good parenting and education.

well, u said it yourself "human beings" thats the problem. we always want more, especially when its the good stuff, u make a lot of money, you still work coz u want more. its just human nature to be competitive meaning we will always want more than the guy next door, it shows status and we want more just because we want more.

He works hard to reach other horizon because he is unsatisfied. In this manner unsatisfaction is also a mean of development.
