My Current PC atm is the following,

Athlon 64 3700 San Diego Core socket 939

2 Gig of DDR PC 3200 Corsair Value select

80 gig HD Western Digital

Asus A8N5X Socket 939 Nforce 4 Motherboard.

I currently have no plans to do any overclocking, and I'm only running 1 Hard Drive, 1 Floppy, 1 CD/RW Burner. What is the best power supply I can get for under 100 dollars from newegg that will power my system with an Geforce 8800 GTS installed in, from what I understand its a power eater. But having a hard time picking a power supply out, any ideas?

I would recommend this one insted of the one the first guy recommended:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817189014 it is from a better brand, and has Active PFC, which is important.

wow, i got same processor and memory as you
Anyways, why buy a 8800GTS right now? The directx 10 cards got so many problems right now like:

1) Bad drivers
2)You will need windows vista to have directX 10
3)MANY of the games like call of duty 2, F.E.A.R and others wont really work good becuz they are direct x 9
4)ATI hahent even realesed their direct x10 cards, from what iv been hearing they are like 2 times more powerfull than nvidias

Anyways i just bought a x1950Pro a week ago and it works perfectly with all games...When the ATI direct x10 cards come out ill sell my x1950 pro and get one...

Now the answer for your question:

You will need at least a 450 Watts power supply but in case you want to make new upgrades to ur computer i recommend u take a 500 watt or a 550 watt
You can find those on ebay for like 10$ to 30$

Good luck!

There's lots of options for under $100. What you want to look for is 500W and up for a 8800GTS.

The Hyper products look the best value. This one is 580W, twin rail, supports SLI, has 2 PCI-E connectors, good over voltage protection and is very quiet. it's also modular which makes all your internal cabling much neater and will improve airflow in your case.

At under $90 it's a bargain as well.
