For THE hockey experience you must go to the Bell Centre in Montreal. HSBC in Buffalo is also a great place to see a game and you can park a few blocks away for free!
The ACC is alright, but it's NOT my favourite hockey experience. They play annoying techno music WAY too loud and at least half the people at the game are corporate and they don't give a crap about the game. In Montreal, you can almost feel the 40,000 eyes all watching the game and reacting to every play. It's great!
Playoff games? Well, if you'd watched any playoff games last year you'd know nothing beats Rexall Centre in Edmonton.

While going to see a hockey game almost anywhere is nice, and some places definitely put on a far better show and have a much nicer rink for the fans to watch a game in, the only place to truly appreciate a hockey game is from on the ice with a stick in your hands. To feel the adrenaline when a teammate passes to you and you've got to take a few quick strides, make your way through a defender and look for an open man or a hole to shoot for on the net, there is nothing better!
Go to your local arena, sign up for a league or a learn to play program. You'll never watch a game of hockey the same again, and it will not matter where you are when you watch one. Nothing compares to playing the game.

ScotiaBank Place
"Home" of the Ottawa Senators.
Why???
Tickets are not that expensive, and they don't have any fans.
I've been to 4 games this year. It's the same story.
Game 1: Season opener against the Leafs.
Leafs fans screamed louder than anyone, of course we were 80% of the crowd!!! And we won 6-0
Game 2: New Year's game against Atlanta
I had to go and see our local hero Bob Hartley from Hawkesbury!!
But then again, more Thrashers' jerseys than you could imagine!!
Game 3: The Habs beating of 8-3 on January 13th.
Habs' fans were still going crazy even when they were losing 6-0.
They went crazier than Sens fans, and they were losing, for cryin' out loud.
Game 4: The shootout win by the Leafs just last Saturday.
Again there was more of us than Sens fans. You see more white and blue than red.
All of this to say, that ScotiaBank is the greatest because you get the chance to stick it to Senators' fans, right there in their home!!!
Priceless!!!!

As I am a huge Montreal Canadiens fan i have to say the Bell Center fans are tops but I would also definitly reccomend checking out the ACC, the Leafs do have some great fans. I'm guessing it would be the same in any of the other orignal six arenas.

If you don't wanna make a visit to MSG, your next best bet is a local AHL team. Some of those small barns are the best place to watch pro hockey.

OKAY I have been silent LONG enough.. IF You want to see TRUE hockey fans.. IF you want to see EXCITEMENT.. Great hockey played the way it's supposed to be played.. GET AWAY from the NHL.. because ONLY ONE city can be called THE BEST hockey fans in the world.. That my friends belongs to the AHL's own CHICAGO WOLVES!!!
YOU WILL never see more rabid fans..
they make canadien fans and Maple Leafs fans seem boring.

The old Maple Leaf Gardens was the best I've ever been to.
I always loved Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, too.
The new buildings are all too generic for my liking. I prefer the old buildings that had character.

no question is somewhere in Canada. you cant compete with Canada in hockey.(yes they have been beaten). But nobody loves hockey more than Canada. So the best venues are going to be in Canada. My opinion its gotta be Pengrowth Saddledome. I love it there.
