When Anna Nicole Smith was alive everyone was making fun of her and her being drunk and appearing on stage etc. stirred up a lot of ridicule about her on the news and respect is the last thing the media would ever give her, and when she died she's suddenly put on a pedestal like she's a saint.

I don't feel sorry that she died as she didn't have any impact on my life nor change a thing now plus death happens to everyone...and she was really screwed up. I know she died and respect the dead and all but that's what I truly feel.

What do you think?

I think a lot of the hype is because she is so young and because she left behind a 5 month old baby. If she had been 80 I don't think this much hype would be taking place. Plus, she was beautiful and she was a tabloid focus. I don't remember a LOT of coverage about her drunk episode at an awards show. I just know what I thought of it. I happened to see it live. I felt sorry for her making herself an object of the media's eye. Of course hollywood loves to get the dirt on people. Good or bad, Anna was a very public figure.

I don't see/hear anyone treating her like a saint. It is just sad, whether she had an impact on you or not, to see someone with a life that was continually filled with troubles have life end when she was so young and with a young baby. I don;t think people are dwelling on it, but you have to feel just a little sadness.....it is a terrible thing to see anyone die so young leaving behind a young child....

I agree. I'm thinking the whole "pedestal" bit is because the media that dissed her before is now feeling guilty.

ridiculing the dead gets the news people nothing but bad ratings and hate mail; and therefore less money from the sponsors.

yeah...I don't know whether it's a good thing or a bad thing. I mean, you seen what she did with her first child...before he died. And she just had another baby. (sad for it) but maybe someone better will take care of it.
