I am a pretty smart guy and I just dont get this. Why do they hate America where we have freedom and love oppresive regimes like Cuba and now Venezuela. I mean I recall hollywood actors saying that Fidel was the greatest guy around or something like that. If they hate it here so much, why dont they move to some place like Cuba(some have threatened that, but not followed throught) If you have any ideas about this, please let me know. Thanks.

Oh, I forgot to add that these dictators dont allow there people to leave, put people in prison for disagreeing, and have complete control over TV, news, and information.

Contrary to what "Patois" says, left-wingers do hate America.

The proof is right here on Yahoo! Answers. Every day you can see irrational rants by Liberals saying that America is evil and corrupt. They take perverse delight in hoping we will lose the fight to give the gift of democracy to Iraq. Their muddled little minds never stopped to consider that a society cannot exist when everyone insists on disrupting and interjecting their whiny, self-indulgent, pointless criticisms.

Liberals must love dictators so much because Liberals have the political maturity of grade schoolers. Liberals rage blindly at a world they neither understand nor feel they belong to. Then they see the "simple" political process of a dictatorship like Cuba and think, "Wow, this is really cool. I can understand this." Ironically, they don't even come close to understanding. Mental light weights like Tim Robbins and Sean Penn are absolutely duped by these foreign governments. Talk about "useful idiots".

Maybe the core reasons Liberals are so destructive to America is a form of self-loathing. On some level, they realize they don't deserve to have the great life that America gives them. They haven't worked particularly hard, nor contributed to society.

Therefore, rather than suffer with the conflicted emotion of ingratitude, they are unconsciously sabotaging the country. It's just like when someone helps out a friend a little too much. The friend can't repay the kindness, and this causes him to feel very guilty. The person does not feel gratitude, but rather RESENTMENT.

That's why Liberals hate America.

Excellent question. Those on the radical left are the very first to demand many rights, they are the first to whine and wring their hands if the government wants to wiretap terrorists or trace their money, they are the first to hate the police and the military. So, WHY do they invariably embrace people like Hugo Chavez, who will no doubt be dictator for life, and Castro? These regimes will be the first to take away all the rights and liberties they claim to love so much. Confusing. A move to one of these other countries might be a good idea, probably change their views somewhat.

I think you have forgotten one major thing in your argument. Chavez was elected by the people of Venezuela!!!! He is not a dictator. He has certain powers that pretty much translate to powers that an American President has. The US President can veto any bill passed by the two houses and can make executive decisions like Chavez. There has been more centralisation of power under Bush than any other President.

And remember that the US has supported dictators all over the world when it suited them. I believe Saddam was one of them.

There will be further elections in Venezuela so that means Chavez can be voted out.

I will throw the question right back at you and ask why do right wingers automatically accuse socialists like Chavez of being dictators when they clearly are not.

It goes beyond the 2 dimensional characterization Chavez and Castro have been given in the mainstream media!
Chavez and Castro-more like Venezuala and Cuba-formed an alliance where Venezuala's oil wealth helped Cuba's sanction devastated infrastructure and Cuba's socialized medical personel have been used to help the poorest and most destitute not only in Venezuala but in other impoverished places in Latin America! That's never reported. We only hear pundits engaging in name-calling. Chavez and Casto are "dictators" but King Faud and Hasni Mubarrek are our "allies in the War On Terror"!
Couple that with using the oil wealth to eliminate the IMF and World Bank debt for not only Venezuala, nationalizing industries that don't compete ( I look at my power bill and wish somebody would do that here!), and 11 cent gasoline for the people of Venezuala; we have a monster in charge of Venezuala that must be stopped in the eyes of corrupt b a s t a r d s in DC.
And for the record, wanting to hold an elitist government that seems to be at war with our Constitution accountable for its actions when WE THE PEOPLE are the ones paying the bills is NOT HATING AMERICA!
We are citizens. We are not subjects. If you have a problem with the massive corruption in Washington DC that has cost the lives of our soldiers you have a moral duty as a citizen to speak up. If you are a subject you take whatever is handed to you by "experts", talking heads, or pundits.
Back to the power bill, they treat us like subjects. The vermin responsible for the Enron scandal are still calling the shots and nationalizing the power company so people can have lower rates hardly seems like tyranny to me. It is reminding the tyrants in charge of power companies where the real power lies.

Why do right wingers hate minorities and anyone who's not part of their white anglo-saxon culture....Sound's like a stupid argument right? Well thats exactly how you sound buddy..
Not all left wingers are the same and not all right wingers, big diferrence between the far,far extreme left and the left, as is for far,far right extremest and the right. Im sure there are some left wing nuts who hate America, but just remeber they are complete Nuts!!!! As is for the right wing nuts like the klans people and armed militia nuts!!!! They are entitiled to their oppinions because this is America, not cuba. We lead by example, and Hugo Chavez can demonize the U.S all he wants...Actions will always speak louder then words..

You are a pretty smart guy. I agree with you. Celebrities are one of the reasons why people are so confused. Celebrities are used in this way to try and turn American citizens against their own government. I think all the Celebrities that support Castro and Chavez should be forced to go live there for at least 25years and not be able to return back to America. Just shows how many communist and terrorist lurk among the so called elite bunch that we watch in movies and TV nearly every day. I may look at a movie or watch TV, but I have better sense to believe anything they say regarding politics.

I take offense to this. I am a liberal minded person and I have no respect for Castro or Chavez, and I happen to love the US (although some of our policies and politicians leave something to be desired).

I will say this though. Many American's act as though the American way is the only way or the best way. The reality is that other forms of government and economies can and do work. Just because we don't agree with something doesn't give us the right to force change on someone else.
