I am stuck on shenmue 1 for dreamcast please help!!!!!!!?

I am on the second disc for shenmue and got as far as finding the basement in the dojo i have found the photo of ryos father and some other guy but don,t know what to do next i have been running about for ages and no one is helping me please help i love the game but feel like smashing it up
