You've answered your own question when you state that "Iraq is a bloody mess due to wishy washy methods". Wake up for Christs sake! How many times do you guys have to get your asses whooped by trying to be the worlds sheriff? Remember Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq? Hasn't your government learnt the lesson or do they really need another international ***** slap.
If some idiot (GW Bush fer instance) decides to launch a nuclear, sorry NUCULAR, strike on Iran that will be the end of any chance of world peace! Sh1t, we were within an inch of a holocaust over the debacle in Cuba. Let's not go THERE again!

"Bring them into line?" WHOSE line? Ours? Yeah, I see, just like that strategy is working REALLY well in Iraq right now. If it's not working in Iraq, what makes you think it would work in Iran?
Never mind the fact that the US is a signature nation on a treaty which states that the signing nations agree to never use nuclear weapons in a "first strike" capability.
Never mind that a pre-emptive nuclear strike would be the one thing that would absolutely turn the world's opinion against us...if you think we're getting resistance in the Middle East now, just drop a nuke on Iran and see what happens.
Sorry, but this is the worst of the worst ideas I've heard this week.

Why not contaminate 10% of the world's oil and make it radioactive, or maybe more? How about a million deaths and radiation circling the globe for who knows how long, spreading sickness and death everywhere. Bring them into line with what, Bush's plan to control the entire Middle East? What has Iran ever done to you? It is the US who, using the CIA overthrew their elected Prime Minister in 1954 because they had nationalized their oil industry, and then replaced him with the Shah who brutalized them. It was the US under Bush Sr who supported Saddam who not only brutalized his own people, but, with our Bush's encouragement, attacked Iran. Now we have another Bush, Bush II, who wishes to attack Iran again. Where do Americans now get this anti-Iranian attitude, especially when Iran, whose population is largely under 30, really likes the US and its culture, except from Bush/Cheney who constantly demonize them. It is insanity to consider using nuclear weapons any time, but especially as a way to persuade people to your point of view. Ever since we bombed Japan in 1945, every US President and Congress has worked very hard to make sure that no one ever used a nuclear weapon anywhere ever again, as the results are unspeakable if only one side uses them. If they are ever used by anyone, there is no guarantee that others will not join in the madness, and then those of us who are left can live underground for the next 50 - 100 years. What are you thinking?

No, but since our military is ready and in place already, I am sure if Iran tried, they would be very sorry they did. As for as your statement about Iraq being a bloody mess, and the same mistake should not apply. It is NOT a mistake to start with, and your loaded question gets you no where except in the double standard Liberal type question bracket.

That would absolutely be the worst thing to do. The US already increased Middle East instability by invading Iraq, resulting in the deaths of from 100,000 - 600,000, depending on your statistical preferences. (As if 100,000 isn't bad enough!!) Also, what many people don't realize is that China would most strongly object to an invasion or bombing of Iran; China is heavily invested in Iran as a result of China's increasing demand for oil.

Yeah, lets make a surprise attack, Hit them on a holy day of the week with a carrier strike and take out their battleships, look for the carriers, and take out the airfields. Why not? It worked for Japan.

why not? we should have used it in Korea, Viet Nam, East Germany during the airlift, Desert Storm, and many other times before that like in the Cuban Missile crises with Kennedy and the Russians.
We need to show the world we will not back down to terrorism.
Patton wanted to invade Russia in 1945 and take the Comm unionist on and drive them back to Moscow. That is the first time the U.S. really screwed up. We had the bomb and did not use it then and nobody else had it either.
its not what you do in life that you regret..its what you don't do that you regret
